چکیده

This paper proposes an efficient multiuser adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) scheme that considers inevitable feedback delay by employing short-term and long-term channel state information (CSI) in time-varying frequency-selective fading channels. By taking the statistic of the true signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at a given predicted SNR value into account, the required transmit power to meet the target packet-error-rate (PER) can be obtained and used for user selection, power allocation, and modulation and coding set (MCS) selection. In addition, a simple and useful approximation method of obtaining the required transmit power is proposed. The performance of the proposed scheme is shown to be much better than that of conventional schemes without considering the feedback delay or the prediction error. The proposed scheme can also reduce the feedback resource while maintaining the system throughput by allocating different feedback resources to different users according to their prediction error variances. r 2008 Elsevier B.V. Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization for Orthogonal STBC over Frequency-Selective MIMO-PLC channels

In this paper we propose a new space diversity scheme for broadband PLC systems using orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) transmission combined with single-carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE). To apply this diversity technique to PLC channels, we first propose a new technique for combining SC-FDE with OSTBCs applicable to all dispersive multipath channels impaired by impulsive...

Adaptive Switching between Space-Time and Space-Frequency Block Coded OFDM Systems in Rayleigh Fading Channel

This work explores the performances of Space-Time and Space Frequency Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) with simple two branches transmit diversity scheme. The combination of multiple-antenna and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) provides reliable communications over frequency selective fading channels. We focus on the application of space-time block codes ...

A self-recovering RAKE receiver for asynchronous CDMA systems

In asynchronous CDMA systems, transmission over frequency-selective channels subjects the signal to interchip interference and intersymbol interference, both of which cause multiple access interference (MAI). MAI cannot be easily eliminated without the knowledge of the channel parameters. Both blind adaptive and subspace based multiuser receivers have been proposed to eliminate the interference...

Applications of Fuzzy Logic for Adaptive Interference Canceller in CDMA Wireless Communication Systems

In this paper, the performance of the proposed fuzzy logic parallel interference cancellation (FLPIC) multiuser detector is evaluated for frequency-selective fading channels in wireless CDMA communication systems. A modified fuzzy logic system (FLS) with an adequate scaling factor (SF) is proposed to infer adequate partial factors (PFs) for the PIC scheme. Simulation results show that the propo...

Adaptive multiuser detection for frequency selective channel using IMM

In this paper, an adaptive multiuser detector based on interacting multiple model (IMM) is introduced to estimate the transmitted sequence corrupted by MAI (multiple access interference), multipath fading and noise. The proposed algorithm presents a novel multipath combining scheme based on a multiple model concepts and used in frequency selective Raleigh fading channels. The performance of the...
